Ivor Novello plays the title character of the British-made, Paris-set crime picture. He’s a ne’er-do-well whose main redeeming quality is his love for Mae Marsh, whom he insists he loves like a sister.
Your enjoyment of this film depends on two things: your appreciation of Novello’s profile and your desire to see more of same. If you’re in the “yes” camp, you’re going to find a lot to love about this film. If it’s not your thing, you can probably safely skip it.
