Fun Size Review: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920)

One of the most influential and popular silent films, Caligari is also spectacularly weird entertainment and a blast to watch even for non-geeky viewers.

From the stylized sets to the powerful acting to the slippery plot, this film is a unique experience from beginning to end. Often imitated, always referenced but never equaled.

How does it end? Hover or tap below for a spoiler.

It was all a dream. Phew! Or was it? Also, who did kill those people?

If it were a dessert it would be: Black Lagoon Cocktails. Dark, mysterious and more than a little disturbing. May mess with your head.

Availability: There are lots of cheap, blurry, scratched public domain editions but it is worth investing in a quality copy. The 4K Murnau Stiftung restoration is the way to go. It is gorgeous. It was released by Kino in North America.
