Happy Anniversary! Movies Silently in Nine Years Old!

Movies Silently has turned nine! It’s almost a tween! Aww!

First of all, thanks for all the kind support I have received over the years and thanks for the film recommendations and tips and most of all, thanks for reading!

I launched the site in March of 2009 (HTML coded by my own fair hand) with five whole reviews and I rebranded and switched to a daily post format in 2013. Since then, I have accomplished reviewed 380 silent films. Not too shabby! I’ve also reviewed talkies, prepared vintage recipes and am in the process of creating my first home video release!

I’m planning kind of a big shindig for next year’s 10th anniversary but for right now, I’m just going to say happy blogiversary to me!

Hands down, one of the most valuable and fascinating film sites (silent or sound) on the ‘net. Cannot count the number I have referred to Movies Silently over these past several years.

A richly-deserved Big Congrats on this milestone, MS! Greatly looking forward to Number 10!!!

[And to think (yes, I know, old story) that I discovered this site years back completely by chance while looking for in-depth reviews of Hell’s Hinges] 😉

I’m so in awe for your long-life blog. Nine years sounds like a huge commitment to me and you deserve all the success you’re having. I’m honest, this is one of the best blogs I follow.

And would you tell? 8th March was also my blogversary… though my blog it’s just 4
