It’s time for the annual Reader Request month! Well, two months because I am going on vacation for part of October and November.
So, things will be quiet around here for about a three week stretch but don’t worry, I am just inflicting my presence on innocent Nordic and Baltic states.
Back to business as usual: I put out a request for titles back in June and you came through with some excellent suggestions, many of which had not previously been on my radar. So, well done, all of you! I appreciate all your help with this and will enjoy covering your requests.
This is my TENTH reader request month, if you can believe it, so I thought you might like to read some of the reviews that readers asked for the first time in 2013 (I skipped 2014 for reasons best known to Past Me):
The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1926): Lotte Reiniger’s legendary animation!
The Red Lily (1924): A grim Parisian tale with Ramon Novarro.
Lizzies of the Field (1924): Late era Mack Sennett car comedy.
Silent Movie (1976): Yes, the Mel Brooks comedy that is (almost) entirely silent!
