Theme Month! February 2020: Reader Requests

It’s that time again! Every year, I ask my readers to offer up suggestions and every year I select a month’s worth of silent films from these suggestions.

I always have a lot of fun with these events because having so many excellent ideas thrown my way has helped me expand my viewing and stretch outside my comfort zone. I have a nice crop of silents all picked out from the titles you requested, so I hope you will enjoy this as much as I do.

I won’t give the whole game away, of course, but I have something real, something spooky, something twisted and something… Finnish? How’s that for a tease?

“Hey, I want to request something!”

Well, the good news is that I am happy to hear your requests any time of the year. And, usually in the summer, I make a formal post asking for suggestions. This month is all booked up but there’s always next year! And if a movie particularly tickles my fancy, I will sometimes review a film recommended to me outside the official Reader Requests month so don’t be shy.

Anyway, thanks so much for your help with this! I had a great time reading all your ideas and making my selections. This is easily my favorite theme month every year and I hope this one will be no exception.
