Fun Size Review: The Red Spectre (1907)

Wonderfully weird fantasy short from Segundo de Chomón, this picture has everything: a skeleton, applied color, and a mystical battle of the sexes.

This film is both fantastic and bursting with personality thanks to the engaging performers, which is high praise considering that they were acting under heavy costumes and makeup. I could go on but the images say it all.

How does it end? Hover or tap below for a spoiler.

The blue fairy wins her duel with the skeleton wizard.

If it were a dessert it would be: Pastel Coconut Bonbons. A pretty little delight.

Availability: Released on DVD by Flicker Alley as part of the Wild and Weird collection, which truly lives up to its name.
