The American Revolution is the backdrop of this romance starring Robert Warwick and Gail Kane. It purports to tell the tale of Nathan Hale, schoolteacher-turned-spy whose quotable quote is still quoted wherever quoters quote. (Even if he may not have actually said it.)
Kane and Warwick are just wonderful as the lovers of the picture but Hale’s rather dreary end and the roundabout way the movie sets it up kills momentum well before it kills the hero. (That’s not really a spoiler, by the way any more than revealing that, yes, Titanic does feature a ship sinking.)
How does it end? Hover or tap below for a spoiler.
Warwick dies, Kane lives.
If it were a dessert it would be: Five-Star Brownies. Sure, the shape is cute but I would rather have just had a chunk of brownie, thanks.
