Harry Houdini made his final fiction film appearance in this pulpy little adventure. As the title indicates, he’s a Secret Service agent and is, naturally, on the tail of a gang of international baddies.
I have been off on another vintage advertising detour and thought I would share a few things that struck me as funny about a lobby card for Harry Houdini’s final motion picture.
Harry Houdini attempted to parlay his legendary career as an illusionist into a film career and this was his final effort. (He also directs.) Playing the titular secret service agent, Houdini must track down some counterfeiters and rescue a young lady tangled in their web. Par for the pulp course.
