News from the Silent Movie Front: Crowdfunding, Podcasting and Douglas Fairbanks

Lots of happenings in the new year and many of them centered on this lil’ site. Let’s dig in!

New 35mm-derived “Little Old New York” DVD

Edward Lorusso is crowdfunding a new edition of Marion Davies’ costume dramedy Little Old New York. This new release should be a considerable improvement over what is currently available. You can back the project here.

Re-Released Douglas Fairbanks Bio with Pics

This is fun! Letitia Fairbanks co-wrote a biography of her famous uncle Douglas with Ralph Hancock. This new edition boasts some really wonderful photos of Douglas Fairbanks and the entire Pickfair crew. I have had a sneak peek and it’s pretty wonderful! The new combination of pictures and text makes this an attractive title for both casual fans and more dedicated nerds.

It will be released February 1, 2019. Pre-order your copy here.

Not Pot, Pod!

My long hinted at podcast is in the works now and I am also pleased to announce that it will be available through The 25th Frame, a new and geeky film podcast network. Patreon patrons will get sneak previews and will be able to listen early and the general public will get access a little later.

I am a little nervous and working out the kinks but I hope you will enjoy it!
