Site News: There Shall Be Continuation

Last week, I wrote about some matters that could possibly effect the site’s future. Well, I am happy to say that everything has been satisfactorily resolved.

Sorry to be vague about things but when a stressful event is underway, I don’t really like to discuss it. A bit of an explanation after the fact: My day job is in marketing and the business I had been working for was sold. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be working for the new company and what terms they were offering so I was at a bit of a crossroads. (This has been going on in the background for about half the year.)

Fortunately, I was able to come to terms with the new company and continue to work remotely, which frees my up to take care of personal matters and flexibility in posting for this site and creating silent film-related releases.

In other news, I have been working on my next silent film release as well as expanded distribution for my Kidnapped disc. I hope to be able to make an announcement about my future project very soon. (And, of course, my Patreon patrons get a sneak peek at all projects before they launch.)

In pet news, Ronaldo the kitten now weighs about eight pounds and was neutered so there will be no little Ronaldos. He has continued to be friends with Douglas and they have many wondrous games, including slap-the-puppy-through-the-holes-of-the-kitten’s-crinkle-tunnel.

I am also working to create more food-related posts and have plans to visit a silent era location soon, so photos will be forthcoming.

I have other matters boiling away in the background and hope to have more exciting developments but for now, just know that my daily post schedule will continue and I truly appreciate all your support.

  1. I lived through the collapse and consequent external administration of a film production company in New Zealand in 1988. It was a very frightening time.

I hoped that I might be needed to assist the administrators tidy up (no). Thought I might be liable for share option pay-up (no, thanks to a boss who kindly avoided that for me).

The major asset, the inventory of good, bad and middling films were sold off to some dodgy LA distributor and out of New Zealand hands for many years.

This is one of the better ones:

I’m pleased to see that things have worked out for you.

  2. Hurrah! Best news I’ve had since an announcement that our town is moving its annual noisy, crowded Harbor Festival to the other end of the Embarcadero (away from us). I’ll bet this is a load lifted from your mind after much uncertainty. And great news for MS fans 😀

  3. Excellent news!

Time is the greatest luxury one can have, but you use your time and flexibility for the benefit of us readers, too.
