Fun Size Review: Where the North Holds Sway (1927)

A perfectly solid little Mountie flick with a hero (Jack Perrin), a kid, a dog and a genius horse. It’s one of those revenge B-pictures, you know the type if you’ve seen enough classic era westerns, but it works.

The one surprise is the rather bloody finale that seems to have been lifted from Behind the Door. It’s, um, surprising in a film that up to this point was focused on the genius horse.

How does it end? Hover or tap below for a spoiler.

Jack takes the phrase “I’ll skin you alive!” quite literally. It’s not exactly graphic but there’s no ambiguity either.

If it were a dessert it would be: Bloody Cupcakes. An innocent little treat? But wait until you get to the center!

Availability: Released on DVD.
