The Buster Keaton Bluray Giveaway!

What’s better than a Buster Keaton Bluray? A free Buster Keaton Bluray! That’s right, the good people at Kino Lorber have provided two Buster Keaton Bluray sets for me to give away to my readers!

The Prizes

These beauties right here! The new Kino/Lobster Films releases of The General & Three Ages and Steamboat Bill Jr. & College, each released as fully-loaded two-disc sets. They became available this month and have a suggested retail price of $29.95 each.

How to Enter

Easy! Before midnight PST on March 3, 2017, leave a comment below telling me what you love about Buster Keaton in five words or less. (In order to minimize confusion, I will not be accepting entries via social media or email. Please let me know if you have any difficulty commenting.)

Sharpen your pencils! Refill your ink bottles! Let’s get writing!

Your comment enters you into two drawings: one for The General/Three Ages and one for Steamboat Bill/College.

I’ll draw the two winners on March 8, 2017. It will be totally random, pure chance and may involve a cat. I’ll contact the winners via the email address they provide with their comment.

All entries should be aimed at a family audience. You can call Buster sexy if you like but nothing NSFW.

How it Works

Complete rules and legalese can be found here but here are the basics in a nutshell:

Due to licensing and rights, the prizes can only be shipped within the United States.

Entries will be allowed until Friday, March 3, 2017. Cutoff time is 11:59 p.m. PST.

I will draw two winners at random and inform them of their victory on March 8, 2017. The winners will provide a U.S. shipping address that I will pass on to Kino. If a winner does not respond by March 12, 2017, I will draw a runner-up.

I’ll only use your email addresses to contact the winners of the contest.

Movies Silently reserves the right to reprint any entry submitted (with all due credit to the original author, of course).

That’s all! Best of success, m’dears.

      1. No Thanks, it’ll probably say ‘da Vinci’ is 2 words… And Leonardo alone might imply someone else….

  1. I’m sure friends and family can’t participate (conflict of interest). So don’t enter me in the drawing, but I still want to play the game! Here’s my entry! Still face, amazing pace, genius!

  2. Of all the music, actors- movies TV shows that my family loves, Buster Keaton is the ONE thing we all agree on. Our RV broke down and while waiting for the tow truck we put on The Boat and when the Tow arrived before it was over-everyone was disappointed. Stranded at a rest stop in the middle of the night, and Buster was the best part.

  3. I already got the General/Three Ages BluRay and love it, already watched The General, but need to get around to Three Ages. Though I’ll go ahead with an post: “Pure magic in The Cameraman”

  4. Pardon my lame attempt at humor here but “Buster has luster!!” harharhar

In all seriousness, this is the first time I’ve been on the site since you’ve redecorated things, and the large image on the top really pops out. I love what you’ve done with the place.
