Amazing Silent Movie Wedding Tips (which may or may not get you killed) Animated GIF

So, you want a memorable wedding. That’s natural. Well, with these quick and easy tips from the silent classic Waxworks, you are going to have a wedding that no one will ever forget. (No matter how much therapy they attend.)

Step 1: Invite the czar. (Make sure that the czar’s title is something like “the Terrible” and that he is played by Conrad Veidt.)

Step 2: The czar will kill a few wedding guests and/or members of the bridal party. This is normal. And if he tells you to dance, dance.

Step 3: The czar may finish everything off by abducting the bride and/or groom for nefarious purposes.

Step 4: Success! Your wedding will be the most talked-about event of the season!

Oh, and the groom in this sequence (look at the background) is played by Wilhelm Dieterle, who changed his name to “William” and directed The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939), The Life of Emile Zola, Portrait of Jennie and Kismet (1944).

  1. Rented this movie from my university’s library the other day. The whole thing was a ball, but Veidt was the highlight of the picture with his evil ways and this wedding sequence!
