Fun Size Review: Daddy Long Legs (1919)

She is Mary Pickford, spunky orphan who is being sent to college by a mysterious benefactor. He is the mysterious philanthropist who reads Mary’s letters but never writes back. But just who is Daddy Long Legs? And why is he so interested in Mary’s romances?

Mary Pickford is in top form in this sweet little drama. She takes her character from 12 to 24 and is thoroughly believable. A few cutesy moments aside, this is an ideal silent film.

How does it end? Hover or tap below for a spoiler.

She finally meets her benefactor and love blossoms.

If it were a dessert it would be: Blueberry Slump. Unpretentious, down-home and irresistible. Wow! I want some now!
